Secret Lab Map FAQ

So... you've heard about the Lab Map. You're excited. You want your pets painted. Right? Right? Yeah, of course you do. Now, you should note that it's actually frowned upon by many Neopians to ZAP your pet. :( I really don't care, and it's your choice. There are BAD side effects to the Lab too... Your pet can lose levels, change species, change gender, or lose stats. Although getting their species changed will get you this spiffy avatar:

Now, how about the positive? :D
Many of my experiments with the Lab Ray have been successful.
For example, my pets have:
1. Changed color.
2. GAINED Levels.
3. GAINED Stats.
4. Changed species (which isn't really that great, but gets you the avatar. :D)

So, here's an FAQ about the Map.

Q: How many pieces are there?
A: Nine. Just like the rest of the maps.

Q: How much is the whole map?
A: Most of the pieces are between 45k-55k. There is one piece however that costs approximately 90k. :o. So your total comes to... 450k.

Q: OMG that's alot! Can I have some neopoints?
A: NO!!! You can get your own Neopoints like the rest of Neopia's population. D: n00b. There's a thing on Neopets called "THE GAME ROOM." You should go there and try the Featured Game. Duh.

Q: What does that map look like put all together?

Q: Where do I go to put the map together?
A: Go to the Game Room, click on Puzzles, and it's towards the bottom of the page, it's called Treasure Maps. Then you click on Seceret.

Q: How often can I zap my pet?
A: You can use the lab once per day.

Q: Is it true that you have to finish the Secret Lab Map before you can finish the Petpet Map?

Q: Can I split the lab map with someone and share it?
A: No! Once you put the lab map together, the pieces disappear and cannot be sent to someone else. You cannot share an account, so you cannot share a lab map. Watch out for scammers! They like to find people who don't know this and persuade them to send them lab map pieces.

Q: Can I send my pet to someone with the lab map, have them zap it until it changes color, and then have them send it back?
A: That is against Neopets rules.

Q: How can I get these stupid pieces?
A: There are many wasy to get them, I got my first one in a random event. But there are other ways to get them besides random events. These are called "Unbuyables" since the Neopets shops (not user's shops) do not sell them. But you can actually "Buy" these so-called "Unbuyables." (Quite controversial, really. xD) Try the Trading Post. Some people have actually made it very convenient for you and placed ALL the pieces in ONE lot. :) Others aren't so nice and you have to go hunting for them. -_- OR you can buy them in user's shops. This is what I did. You might have to go hunting for them, but this is usually the fastest way to get all of the map.

Q: People have mentioned that there are "Lab Exclusive colors" for your pets...? A: Yes, there are "Lab Exclusive" colors. A few of them to name are Robot, Sponge, and MSPP. (MSPP= Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie) To see them all, visit the Paint Brushes guide.
